DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) -- Big Macher won the $300,000 Bing Crosby Stakes by a half-length Sunday at Del Mar.
Bayern wins Haskell Invitational (The Associated Press)
Bayern won the $1 million Haskell Invitational on Sunday at Monmouth Park, extending trainer Bob Baffert's record for victories in the 3-year-old stakes to seven. Bayern was the dominant front-running winner, pulling away by 7 1/4 lengths over Albano. ''It looks like he has it all together now.'' Martin Garcia was aboard for his third Haskell, all mounts for Baffert. Jockey Rosie Napravnik felt Untapable became unsettled before the start when Social Inclusion in the adjoining stall acted up.
Del Mar to move 2 turf races after horse deaths (The Associated Press)
Del Mar will shift two turf races scheduled for Sunday to the dirt and make other adjustments after the deaths of some horses, including two Saturday, since the summer meet began nearly two weeks ago. Four of the deaths have occurred on the seaside track's new turf course. Two horses were euthanized Saturday as the result of catastrophic injuries sustained in separate turf races. Lil Swiss Echo hurt her right foreleg in the stretch of the fifth race, unseating apprentice jockey Drayden Van Dyke.
Fed Biz wins San Diego Handicap at Del Mar (The Associated Press)
Fed Biz led all the way in winning the $200,000 San Diego Handicap by 5 1/4 lengths in track-record time for Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert at Del Mar on Saturday. Two horses were euthanized as the result of catastrophic injuries sustained in separate turf races. Lil Swiss Echo hurt her right foreleg in the stretch of the fifth races, unseating apprentice jockey Drayden Van Dyke. In the ninth race, J Kat was pulled up on the far turn by jockey Corey Nakatani with severe injuries to his left foreleg.
Wicked Strong wins Jim Dandy at Saratoga (The Associated Press)
Wicked Strong took the lead at the top of the stretch and held off Belmont Stakes winner Tonalist by 2 1/4 lengths Saturday in the Grade 2 $600,000 Jim Dandy at Saratoga Race Course. Ridden by Rajiv Maragh, the 3-year-old son of Hard Spun ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:49.16 on the fast main track and paid $6.40, $3.10 and $2.40. Tonalist made a bold move and I thought, 'It's going to be a good horse race.' ... Wicked Strong dug in and found extra and pulled away at the end.'' Jimmy Jerkens trains Wicked Strong for Centennial Farms. He was followed by Kentucky Derby runner-up Commanding Curve, Ulanbator and Legend.

Blue Grass winner Dance With Fate euthanized (The Associated Press)
Blue Grass Stakes winner Dance With Fate has been euthanized after the colt severely injured his leg in a training accident. A veterinarian at the seaside track said Thursday that Dance With Fate ruptured two of the three large patella ligaments in his right rear leg earlier in the morning. Dr. Helmuth Von Bluecher says the injury was complicated by possible infection and further injuries in the area, which meant the colt would not be able to bear weight. Dance With Fate was galloping at 5:30 a.m. when he bolted to the outside fence near the far turn, crashed into the fence and fell, dumping exercise rider Joe Durant, who was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

Trainer Art Sherman to receive Pincay Award (The Associated Press)
Kentucky Derby and Preakness-winning trainer Art Sherman will receive the Laffit Pincay Jr. award on July 27 at Del Mar. The award has been given annually for the past 10 years to those who have served horse racing with integrity, dedication, determination and distinction. It will be presented at Del Mar for the first time, having moved from Betfair Hollywood Park, which was shuttered in December. At 77, Sherman became the oldest trainer to win the Kentucky Derby when California Chrome won by 1 3/4 lengths in May. The colt followed up with a 1 1/2-length victory in the Preakness before losing his Triple Crown bid with a tie for fourth place in the Belmont Stakes.

A racehorse owned by Britain's Queen Elizabeth II that won the prestigious Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last year has tested positive for the banned painkiller, morphine. On Tuesday, the queen's bloodstock and racing adviser, John Warren, said that the monarch's five-year-old filly Estimate was one of the five. Warren said in a statement that Estimate's trainer Michael Stoute ''is working closely with the feed company involved to discover how the product may have become contaminated prior to delivery to his stables.'' Estimate finished second in this year's Gold Cup behind Leading Light. Warren added: ''Her Majesty has been informed of the situation.'' Previously, Britain's most publicized case of a horse testing positive for morphine was Be My Royal after he had won the 2002 Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury.

Queen Elizabeth's racehorse Estimate, the 2013 Ascot Gold Cup winner, has tested positive for the banned substance morphine, Buckingham Palace said on Tuesday. Estimate was one of five horses under various trainers who were found by the British Horseracing Authority to be affected. "On Thursday 17th July the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) announced that a number of post-race samples, obtained from recent race meetings, had been found to indicate the presence of morphine, which is a prohibited substance on race days," John Warren, the Queen's bloodstock and racing advisor, said in a statement. "Initial indications are that the positive test resulted from the consumption of a contaminated feed product." Warren added: "(Trainer) Sir Michael (Stoute) is working closely with the feed company involved to discover how the product may have become contaminated prior to delivery to his stables.
